The exhibition features maps and graphic art representing the Danube, dating back from the 17th to the 19th century. The river crosses various European regions and cities and has been a trade waterway for centuries. It has also been an important frontier, witnessing wars and sieges.
The exhibition displays the works of important cartographers such as: Sanson, Visscher, Seutter, Homann, Cantelli da Vignola and graphic art produced by the artists who travelled on the Danube River in search of adventure and spectacular landscapes.
